Cards and Scoring

Souvenir cards are bought for 1, 2 or 3 coins, and then arranged into sets containing at most one card of each of the four types. As sets are created, the subsequent cards are 1/3/5/7 worth points. Getting a second card of the same type will start a new set, starting from 1 point again. The Traveller with the most Souvenirs gets the Collector Achievement card.

Panorama cards are collected in sequence, each worth one point more than the last, until you complete the whole Panorama. There are 3 Panoramas in total: the Paddy (3 pieces), the Mountain (4 pieces), and the Sea (5 pieces). You can only create each Panorama once. The first person to finish one gets a Panorama Achievement card.

Coins are not worth points on their own, but they are used to purchase a variety of things over the course of your travels.

Each coin you donate to the Temple is worth 1 point. All Travellers who donate earn bonus points, 10 for the Traveller who donates most, then 7, 4, or 2 points for second most, third most, and everyone else.

Encounter cards each have a different effect, depending on who you meet. The Traveller with the most Encounter cards gets the Chatterbox Achievement card.

Every Traveller must stop at every Inn along the road to Edo. The first Traveller to arrive at an Inn draws a set of Meal cards and buys one for themselves if they can for 1, 2 or 3 coins as shown on the card. The rest of the Travellers each buy a meal, if possible, as they arrive. You may not eat the same Meal twice, and you cannot purchase a meal if you do not have enough coins to afford it.
